Dr. Ambedkar Evening College is run by Dr. AMBEDKAR MEMORIAL EDUCATION TRUST. This institution was started by late Sri. D. BASHKARAN, Ex-Deputy Mayor in the year 1979 in the name of Dr. Ambedkar, the champion of the downtrodden, to impart higher education particularly to the downtrodden and weaker sections of the Society.
The College has developed a lot in various fields, since its inception. Within a span of twenty nine years, over seven thousand students have already availed the benefit of getting education from this institution. The college at present offers Pre-University, Degree Courses in Arts and Commerce. Only those who are genuinely employed may join as students. Being a college for working students, the teaching methodology is adapted to suit their needs.
The Management ventured into Management Studies from the academic year 1993-94 by introducing Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (One Year Course). Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management is also introduced from the academic year 2008 - 09 (One Year Course), affiliated to Bangalore University.
Aim of the College
It shall be the aim of the Management to run this college in a manner befitting the lofty ideals propagated by Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar. The college promotes the ideals of equality and human dignity.
The institution also provides opportunities to its young students to develop the potentials to the fullest extent, so that they achieve a high standard of excellence both in curricular and extra-curricular activities. The college aspires to inculcate among the students a sense of devotion to duty and mould them to be responsible citizens.
Fees
All fees will be paid along with tuition fees at the time of admission. Once admitted these fees will not be refunded under any circumstances. Students discontinuing during junior term will pay the full term fees.
