Eligibility:
A candidate who has passed the two year Pre-University Examination of the Karnataka State with any combination of optional subjects or any other examination recognised as equivalent there to shall be eligible for admission to the B.A. & B.Com. Degree courses.
Students of other States joining the college for the Degree course should produce their 10+2 certificate (equivalent to Pre-University Certificate) or a provisional one, transfer certificate and their migration certificate from the University they have left. They will attend the college at their own risk till their certificate is recognised by the Bangalore University.
Duration of the Course:
The Course of study for the B.Com Degree shall extend over a period of three academic years, each academic year comprising of two semesters, and excluding the duration of examinations, each semester comprising sixteen weeks of class work. The candidates shall complete his/her B.Com Degree within six years from the date of admission to the First Semester of the Course.
Attendance:
1. Attendance Registers will be maintained by the lecturers and they shall take attendance at the beginning of each hour.
2. Students are expected to be in their place at the beginning of the hour. Late comers should not enter the class without permission of the staff members incharge of that class.
3. For the purpose of calculating attendance, each semester shall be taken as a unit.
4. A student shall be considered to have satisfied the requirement of attendance for the semester, if he has attended not less than 75% in aggregate of the number of working periods in each of the subjects.
Skill Development / Record Maintenance and Submission:
In every semester, the student should maintain a Record Book in which a minimum of 5 exercises / programmes per subject are to be recorded. This record has to be submitted to the head of the department for evaluation at least 15 days before the end of each semester.
Scheme of Examination:
There shall be a University examination at the end of each semester. The maximum marks for the University examination in each paper shall be 90 and 10 for skill development and record maintenance. Marks for Skill Development and Record maintenance shall be awarded by the teacher who has taught the paper.
Appearance for the Examination:
A candidate shall apply for all the papers in each examination when he/she appears for the first time. A candidate shall be considered to have appeared for the examination only if he/she has submitted the prescribed application for the examination along with the required fees to the University.
Minimum for a Pass:
Candidates who have obtained at least 40% of marks in aggregate including skill development in each subject shall be eligible for a pass or exemption in that subject. The minimum marks per paper is 35 in theory and 5 for record maintenance.
